Logan Spray Hurt in Wrong-Way Collision in Springfield Township

SPRINGFIELD TWP., OH — October 29, 2026 A two-vehicle collision involving a wrong-way driver left two people hospitalized Thursday afternoon near the State Route 159 exit ramp on U.S. Highway 23 in Springfield Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).

Authorities reported that Logan Spray, 43, of Waverly, was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 23 in a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta at approximately 3:20 p.m. Thursday.

As Spray approached the State Route 159 exit ramp, his vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a 2015 Kia Soul traveling northbound in the wrong direction.

The impact left Spray injured, requiring emergency transportation by air ambulance to Grant Medical Center for medical treatment.

The 21-year-old Kia driver, who resides in Circleville, also sustained injuries and was transported to Grant Medical Center for further care.

Springfield Township Fire and EMS, Green Township Fire and EMS, and the Ross County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident and assisted at the scene.

Officials have not released additional information regarding the extent of the injuries or the circumstances that caused the Kia to travel against traffic.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

Investigators will need to determine how the Kia entered the roadway in the wrong direction and what circumstances contributed to the head-on impact. Potential factors may include driver impairment, distraction, roadway conditions, visibility, and driver error.

A comprehensive investigation may involve examining vehicle damage, roadway markings, physical evidence, witness accounts, and any available surveillance footage. Accident reconstruction specialists may also help establish the vehicles’ movements and positions before the collision.

National Legal Analyst Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal, explains that identifying every contributing factor is an important part of investigating serious roadway collisions. In cases such as this, examining road conditions, lighting, visibility, and possible driver impairment can help investigators establish how the incident occurred.

Bond also emphasizes the importance of preserving evidence promptly. Reviewing physical evidence and reconstructing the collision can help clarify the sequence of events and establish the circumstances surrounding the injuries.

Accident Injury News recognizes that a thorough investigation is essential in determining the factors that contributed to a crash and identifying any potential responsibility.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Following the collision, Logan Spray may have grounds to explore a personal injury claim, depending on the investigation’s findings and the available evidence.

An injury claim may account for expenses associated with emergency treatment, hospitalization, ongoing medical care, lost earnings, rehabilitation, and physical or emotional suffering.

National Legal Analyst Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal, notes that serious motor vehicle collisions can create financial and personal difficulties for injured individuals. In cases such as this, documenting medical expenses, treatment records, lost income, and the broader effects of an injury can be important when evaluating potential compensation.

Formica also highlights the importance of understanding insurance coverage and the available evidence before pursuing a claim. Insurance companies may examine the circumstances of a collision and the documentation supporting reported injuries and financial losses.

Accident Injury News notes that the final determination of liability and any potential compensation will depend on the findings of the investigation and applicable law.
