FATAL PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the circumstances that led to the fatal collision involving Dorris Densel on County Road 83.

Investigators will likely examine several factors, including the driver’s actions, road conditions, visibility, lighting, and the surrounding roadway environment. Determining how the collision occurred and whether any contributing circumstances played a role will be important parts of the investigation.

Candice Bond, an experienced personal injury attorney and Managing Partner at Bond Legal, emphasizes the importance of a thorough investigation in fatal pedestrian accident cases. She explains that gathering appropriate evidence, reviewing roadway conditions, and examining available accident information can help establish whether negligence contributed to a collision.

In cases such as this, a detailed investigation can also help surviving family members understand the circumstances surrounding their loved one’s death and identify whether any parties may bear responsibility.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family of Dorris Densel may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim, depending on the findings of the investigation.

Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal and a national legal analyst for Accident Injury News, explains that motorists generally have a responsibility to exercise caution around pedestrians and yield when required by law.

In fatal pedestrian accident cases, surviving family members may be eligible to seek compensation for damages associated with their loss. These may include funeral and burial expenses, lost financial support, loss of companionship, and emotional suffering.

Candice Bond further notes that insurance companies may attempt to resolve claims through early settlement offers. A careful evaluation of the available evidence and potential damages is important before families consider any settlement.

Legal representation can help families understand their available options and protect their interests throughout the claims process.
