MILO, NY, (April 12, 2026) – Three people, including 63-year-old Steven Hicks, were injured early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash in the Town of Milo, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the accident occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of Havens Corners Road and Thistle Street. A 65-year-old woman driving the vehicle reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign, causing the car to leave the roadway and strike an embankment.
Hicks, along with a 58-year-old woman and the driver, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. All three occupants, residents of Penn Yan, were transported to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment.
The driver was issued a citation for failure to stop at a stop sign. Emergency responders, including the Benton Fire Department and ambulance crews, assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
