PAULS VALLEY, Okla. — A 48-year-old woman died on Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Highway 19 and State Highway 133.
The collision occurred at around 5:45 p.m., approximately five miles east of Pauls Valley, in Garvin County.
A 2008 Kia Forte collided with a 2003 Honda Accord at the highway intersection.
Sheila Smith was riding as a passenger in the Kia Forte driven by 48-year-old Jeremy Smith of Stratford. A 31-year-old Wynnewood man was driving the Honda Accord when the crash occurred.
Sheila Smith sustained massive injuries in the collision. Jeremy Smith suffered critical injuries, authorities said. The Honda driver sustained trunk internal injuries and was listed in critical condition.
Stratford EMS transported Smith to Purcell Municipal Hospital. An EMS helicopter transported Jeremy Smith to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. The Honda driver was airlifted to Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Medical personnel pronounced Smith dead upon arrival at Purcell.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by authorities.
