NEW ULM, Minn. — The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a motorcycle crash on June 16 that left a 34-year-old New Ulm man with life-threatening injuries.
The collision happened at the intersection of Highway 14 and 17th Street NW.
Richard Wayne Oliver was riding a 2006 Honda CBR600 west on Highway 14 when it collided with a Honda CR-V at around 1:32 p.m. A 46-year-old Lake Crystal man was driving the CR-V northeast on 17th Street when the crash occurred.
Oliver sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The CR-V driver suffered no injuries in the collision. The 46-year-old man was wearing his seat belt when the airbags deployed upon impact. He did not require medical attention.
MSP continues investigating the circumstances that led to the intersection collision.
