HOUSTON — The Houston Police Department Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating a fatal accident that happened June 5.
The collision occurred at around 2:10 p.m. in the 9200 block of Fondren Road.
HPD said that 37-year-old Reem Musallam succumbed to injuries when two vehicles traveling at high speeds collided. Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center doctors pronounced Musallam dead after she arrived in critical condition.
A white Honda Accord switched lanes into the path of a white Ford F-250 while both vehicles traveled south at high speeds, HPD said. The Ford struck the Honda during the lane change. Both vehicles left the roadway after impact and struck street signs, poles and trees before stopping.
Musallam was a passenger in the Honda. Paramedics transported the adult male drivers of both vehicles to an area hospital. Both drivers remained in stable condition.
The investigation continues, a news release stated.
