BUTTE, CA (April 2, 2026) – A Butte County DUI crash Thursday afternoon seriously injured Paul D. Skarry, 65, of Chico, CHP reported.

Authorities said a 66-year-old driver was traveling west on County Road 200 near County Road DD when he veered into a metal guardrail. The vehicle flipped and blocked the westbound lane. Skarry was transported to Enloe Medical Center with major injuries.

The driver sustained minor injuries and was arrested on felony DUI charges. CHP continues investigating the crash.


CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Drivers under the influence risk the lives of others. MADD reports that someone is killed or injured in a drunk-driving crash every 85 seconds.
