PUEBLO, CO, (June 27, 2026) — A 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Pueblo’s northwest side Saturday night, according to the Pueblo Police Department.
Officers arrived at around 11 p.m. to find a motorcyclist dead and a car abandoned nearby in the 4000 block of Wills Boulevard. Investigators determined the victim had been traveling north along the side of the road when the car struck him.
Ashton B. Smith, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was confirmed by the Pueblo County Coroner.
A 20-year-old man was identified shortly after officers arrived and taken into custody. He was booked into the Pueblo County Detention Center on charges including vehicular homicide, failure to remain on scene of a crash resulting in death, driving under the influence and careless driving.
The Pueblo Police Department is investigating.
