FATAL PEDESTRIAN CRASH INVESTIGATION

Pedestrian fatalities in Oklahoma reached a 41-year high in 2021, with 115 deaths, marking a 63% increase since 2012, according to the state’s Vulnerable Road User Safety Assessment.

According to Candice Bond, an experienced pedestrian accident attorney, driver negligence is often a contributing factor in crashes involving pedestrians. Bond emphasized that in cases like this, an independent investigation by an experienced attorney is essential to help protect the rights of the victim’s family.

“Having the right resources is critical when investigating pedestrian accidents and establishing negligence,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a national analyst with Accident Injury News. “Factors such as roadway conditions, visibility of signage, and lighting must all be carefully evaluated. These steps are vital in helping families seek justice and potential compensation after a tragic loss.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family members of Monte Barnett may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim. Surviving relatives may seek compensation for loss of companionship, emotional pain, suffering, and other damages following such a tragic accident.

“We understand the immense challenges families face after losing a loved one, and ensuring their rights are protected is crucial,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “A wrongful death attorney can stay informed on the official investigation and work to safeguard the family’s best interests. Loved ones may be entitled to recover damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.”
