MIAMI TWP, OH (April 04, 2026) – Kristin L. Houser, 40, of Blanchester, was killed Saturday night in a single-vehicle crash in Miami Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Authorities said a 2013 GMC Yukon traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 50 left the roadway in the 1300 block and struck a tree at about 7:43 p.m.
Houser, a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was seriously injured and taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that 1,242 people died in motor vehicle crashes in Ohio in 2023.
According to NHTSA, speeding is the leading factor in fatal crashes, followed by alcohol or drug impairment, failure to maintain lane position, failure to yield, and distracted driving.
