HELENA, Mont. — A woman died after being struck by a vehicle on York Road on June 28.
Lewis and Clark County Sheriff and Coroner Leo Dutton released the identity of Mary Peterson, age 41, of East Helena. Deputies reported Peterson exited a vehicle on York Road around 1 a.m. She reportedly had an argument and walked down the middle of the road at night.
Another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction struck Peterson. A 911 call was made, and first responders provided medical care while transporting Peterson to St. Peter’s Health.
Peterson later succumbed to her injuries from blunt force trauma.
The incident remains under investigation by the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
