BUFFALO, NY, (April 19, 2026) – A Texas man was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly striking a pedestrian on a Buffalo sidewalk while driving impaired, according to police.
Authorities said Marcus Edwards, 36, of Temple, was driving along W. Chippewa Street near Franklin Street when he veered off the roadway and hit a pedestrian standing on the sidewalk. He then continued driving and collided with another vehicle.
The injured pedestrian was transported to Erie County Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not released the victim’s identity.
Edwards was charged with driving while intoxicated and making an unsafe lane change. The Buffalo Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
