MAURY COUNTY, Tenn. — A woman faces multiple charges after a crash at U.S. Highway 43 and Tennessee 20 shut down traffic Saturday afternoon.
Crews with the Maury County Fire Department and Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to the two-vehicle wreck just after 3 p.m. on July 4.
Mackenzie Johannessen, 23, was leaving a parking lot toward U.S. 43 to drive north when another car driving south struck her, according to THP. Both Johannessen and the passenger of the other car sustained injuries in the collision.
The Maury County Fire Department said one person was airlifted to an area hospital.
THP charged Johannessen with failure to yield, driving on a suspended license, not wearing a seatbelt, and due care violations.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
