YPSILANTI TWP., Mich. — A 14-year-old boy died on June 18 when a car struck him while he was riding his bicycle at an Ypsilanti Township intersection.
Lennon Leitzinger was crossing Tuttle Hill Road when a northbound car struck him. The accident occurred at the intersection with Merritt road.
Police pronounced the boy dead at the scene. He lived less than a mile from the intersection where the fatal collision occurred.
Lennon was a recent eighth-grade graduate of South Arbor Charter Academy. The school is located southwest of Ypsilanti in York Township.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. Authorities have not released details about the driver involved in the crash.
