TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo Police Department is investigating a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on June 1 at an intersection in the city.
The accident happened at 11:16 a.m. at W. Central Avenue and Douglas Road.
A vehicle traveling eastbound on W. Central Avenue ran a red light and entered the intersection as two cars with a green light crossed.
Larry Hack, 64, was driving one of the vehicles with the right-of-way when the accident occurred. His vehicle was struck, leading to a chain-reaction crash involving four cars. Emergency responders transported Hack to ProMedica Toledo Hospital for treatment.
The driver who ran the red light, a 25-year-old Toledo woman, and two passengers in her car also sustained injuries.
Officials continue reviewing details surrounding the accident while examining contributing factors.
