MARION, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle accident that killed one person and injured three others on June 23.
Troopers said the crash happened around 11:35 a.m. at the intersection of Prospect Upper Sandusky Road North and Ohio 309.
A 61-year-old Michigan woman drove a 2025 Jeep Compass southbound and failed to stop before entering the intersection. Kimberly Neidhart, 33, and Michael Reed, 34, both from Marion, were riding in a 2013 Ford F-150 that struck the Jeep. The pickup traveled off the southeast side of the intersection after the impact, along with the Jeep, which hit a nearby building.
Reed and Neidhart were both treated at Marion General Hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening. A 12-year-old child in the truck also sustained injuries and was later transferred to a children’s hospital in Columbus.
The driver of the Jeep died after being flown to Grant Medical Center. She had not been wearing a seat belt, troopers said.
Authorities said the investigation remains open and were assisted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
