Texas has not had a deathless day on its roads since Nov. 7, 2000, meaning someone has died in a traffic crash every single day for over 24 years. The state’s vulnerable road users – pedestrians and cyclists – face increasing danger, with bicyclist fatalities rising 58% from 2019-2023, highlighting the growing threat of hit-and-run incidents statewide.
