JACKSON TWP, MN, (May 01, 2026) – A 50-year-old woman was critically injured and four other motorists suffered injuries following a five-vehicle chain-reaction crash on Highway 41, according to the Minnesota State Patrol (MSP).
Authorities identified the critically injured driver as Jamie Ann Curtis.
Officials said the crash occurred when traffic was stopped for a railroad crossing near the intersection of Dem Con Road. A 2025 Peterbilt garbage truck struck the rear of a Hyundai Elantra, causing it to be pushed into a line of stopped vehicles.
The resulting collision involved a Ford F-550, a Kia Sedona, and a Nissan Sentra. Curtis, the driver of the Hyundai, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to HCMC for treatment.
The other four drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to medical facilities. Authorities noted that all occupants were properly restrained and road conditions were dry at the time. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
The crash remains under investigation.
