BONDURANT, IA, (May 03, 2026) – Three people were injured, two of them seriously, in a collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle Sunday afternoon in Bondurant, according to the Iowa State Patrol (ISP).
Authorities said the crash occurred at approximately 2:51 p.m. when a 2015 Nissan Altima attempted to turn onto the southbound lanes of Highway 65 from Hawthorne Crossing and collided with a northbound 2014 Harley-Davidson FLHTK motorcycle.
The motorcycle’s driver, 45-year-old Jacob Flannery of Colfax, sustained serious injuries and was transported to IMMC Des Moines for treatment. His passenger, 36-year-old Sharon Bittner of Bondurant, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the same hospital.
The 27-year-old driver of the Nissan was also hospitalized with minor injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
