HOUSTON, TX, (June 28, 2026) — A Houston man has been charged with intoxication manslaughter following a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a passenger early Sunday morning in northwest Houston, according to police.
Investigators said Pablo Maravilla, 50, was driving a Toyota Tundra in the 7000 block of Hollister Street at approximately 4 a.m. when the pickup was traveling at a high rate of speed. Police said the vehicle struck a raised concrete sidewalk, causing the driver to lose control before crashing into a metal fence.
The passenger, whose identity has not been released, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Maravilla was transported to a hospital following the collision. Authorities said he has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.
The crash remains under investigation as police continue to review the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
