WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. — West Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal head-on accident that occurred on June 1 on State Route 37.
The accident happened just before 4:00 p.m. in the East Lynn area.
A westbound vehicle crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound vehicle head-on.
Chelsea Aldridge, age 29, was driving west when the accident happened. Emergency responders arrived and confirmed she suffered fatal injuries at the scene.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by air to Cabell Huntington Hospital for treatment. The driver’s wife and two children were also hospitalized with injuries.
Officials continue to investigate the details surrounding the accident.
