MARENGO, AL, (January 06, 2026) — A head-on collision on U.S. 80 near Uniontown Tuesday evening resulted in two fatalities and left five others injured, according to state troopers.
The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. and involved a Nissan Altima driven by 16-year-old Braleigh Busbee and a Dodge Ram pickup operated by a 75-year-old man from Pine Hill. Authorities said both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
A 17-year-old passenger traveling in Busbee’s vehicle sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to UAB Hospital for treatment.
Emergency crews transported four occupants from the Dodge Ram, including two adult women and two young children, to area hospitals. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
