CHILTON COUNTY, Ala. — State troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are investigating a fatal two-vehicle accident that occurred June 28 on U.S. Highway 31.
The crash happened just after 2 p.m. near milepost 237, roughly two miles north of Jemison.
Troopers reported that a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck collided head-on with a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado in the northbound lanes.
Bradley Goggins, age 34, of Calera, was driving the older model truck and died at the scene, according to ALEA officials. The other driver, a 38-year-old man from Thorsby, was transported to UAB Hospital for injuries sustained in the wreck.
Troopers confirmed that neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The investigation remains active by ALEA. They have not released further details about the cause of the accident.
