Ashley Moore killed in Colorado Springs motorcycle crash, police say

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, (March 11, 2026) – A Colorado Springs woman, Ashley Moore, died March 11 from injuries she sustained in a motorcycle crash that occurred a week earlier, authorities said.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the crash happened at approximately 6 p.m. on March 5. A motorcycle was traveling east on Colorado 24 when a pickup truck made a right turn on red from 21st Street into its path.

The motorcycle struck the rear of the pickup, ejecting both the rider and passenger. Moore, 30, who was a passenger, was transported to a hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to her injuries.

The motorcycle driver also suffered critical injuries, while the pickup driver was uninjured. Police said impairment was not suspected.

MOTORCYCLE CRASH INVESTIGATION

In 2023, U.S. motorcycle fatalities reached a record 6,335, accounting for 15% of all traffic deaths, marking the deadliest year since 1975, according to the NHTSA. With a fatality rate of 31.39 per 100 million miles traveled, increased motorist awareness and safety initiatives remain critical to reducing preventable tragedies.

“Motorcyclists are among the most vulnerable road users,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal. “Even relatively minor collisions can result in severe injuries, making vigilance essential for all drivers.”

Bond, an experienced motorcycle accident attorney, added that in cases like this, it is important to have an independent investigation conducted by a skilled attorney to protect the rights of the victim’s family.

“Blind spots, inexperienced drivers, and distracted motorists are frequent contributors to these types of crashes. An attorney can serve as an advocate for the family, helping guide them through the legal process while ensuring accountability if traffic laws were violated.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, the family of Ashley Moore may be entitled to a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident such as this.

“The stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal.

“We understand what families are forced to endure, and protecting their rights is essential. A wrongful death lawyer will stay informed on the official investigation and help ensure that their legal rights and best interests are fully protected.”
