Ali Almheimid killed in Grimes County big rig crash TX

GRIMES, TX (April 2, 2026) – One person was killed and multiple others were injured Thursday morning in a three-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck in Grimes County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

Authorities said Ali Almheimid, 31, was driving a Ford F-250 westbound on State Highway 90 when the vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic near Thane Road and collided with a semi. The pickup then struck a Ford F-150, while the semi overturned into a ditch.

Almheimid was pronounced dead at the scene. Several others were hospitalized with injuries, most reported as minor.

The crash remains under investigation.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

Approximately 2.2 million people were injured in motor vehicle accidents across the country in 2023, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The NHTSA reports that speeding remains the leading cause of crashes, followed by impairment from alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain proper lane position, failure to yield, and distracted driving.

While investigators continue to determine the cause of this crash, Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal, emphasized the importance of an independent investigation conducted by an experienced attorney.

“As personal injury attorneys, our role is to provide guidance and legal support to those affected by serious accidents. We help ensure that statements made to police or insurers are not used unfairly against victims,” said Bond, a national analyst for Accident Injury News.

“Time is critical in cases like this, and it is essential that evidence is reviewed promptly and thoroughly,” she added.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, victims may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, stated that the aftermath of a serious crash can deeply affect all aspects of life.

“The stress following a major injury can impact family, finances, and overall well-being,” Formica explained.

“It is important for victims to seek legal representation when filing a claim, as an attorney can negotiate directly with insurance companies on their behalf,” he added.

“Insurance providers often attempt to minimize payouts, but legal counsel helps ensure victims are fairly compensated,” Formica noted.
