Texas continues to face a devastating drunken driving crisis, with the Texas Department of Transportation reporting over 26,000 alcohol-related crashes in 2023 alone that resulted in more than 1,100 fatalities and thousands of injuries.

The state recorded a total of 1,138 fatalities in alcohol-involved crashes during 2023, cementing Texas’s position as the third-worst state in the nation for drunken driving.
