Jalencia Bryant killed in Boligee fatal crash, according to ALEA

BOLIGEE, AL (October 31, 2026) A 15-year-old girl died Saturday morning after a single-vehicle collision along County Road 20 near Boligee in Greene County, Alabama, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

Authorities reported that a vehicle carrying three young occupants was traveling near Saved Lane at approximately 9:40 a.m. when the driver lost control. The car veered off the roadway, entered a ditch and struck a tree.

Jalencia Bryant, a passenger and student at Greene County High School, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 17-year-old driver, who was from Boligee, sustained critical injuries and was transported by air ambulance to a nearby hospital. Another passenger, a 12-year-old from Eutaw, was taken to a hospital by ambulance. Officials have not released updates regarding their conditions.

The circumstances that caused the driver to lose control remain under investigation.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is examining the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision to establish what led the vehicle to leave County Road 20. Investigators will work to determine the sequence of events and identify any contributing factors.

National legal analyst Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal, emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive and independent investigation following serious roadway collisions.

In cases such as this, reviewing physical evidence, examining the vehicle’s condition, assessing roadway conditions and obtaining witness accounts can help establish how the incident occurred. Bond also notes that reviewing insurance coverage and consulting qualified accident reconstruction experts may provide additional information when determining the factors involved.

Accident Injury News recognizes the importance of preserving relevant evidence while authorities continue their investigation.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family of Jalencia Bryant may have grounds to explore a wrongful death claim, depending on the findings of the official investigation and the circumstances surrounding the collision.

National legal analyst Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal, highlights the importance of protecting the rights of families following fatal accidents.

In cases such as this, a wrongful death claim may allow eligible surviving family members to pursue compensation for losses associated with the death of a loved one. Potential damages may include loss of companionship, emotional suffering and other legally recoverable losses, subject to applicable state law and the facts established through the investigation.

Formica emphasizes that understanding the available legal options and reviewing the findings of investigators can be important steps in protecting a family’s interests following a fatal collision.

The investigation into the Greene County crash remains ongoing.
