Amanda Wisenbarger injured in Walnut Township motorcycle accident

WALNUT TOWNSHIP, OH — October 23, 2026 A motorcycle collision involving a passenger vehicle at an intersection in Walnut Township left 36-year-old Amanda Sue Wisenbarger hospitalized with suspected serious injuries, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).

Authorities reported that the crash happened at approximately 6:10 p.m. on U.S. Highway 23 near Little Walnut Road.

According to the initial investigation, Wisenbarger was traveling northbound on U.S. 23 on her motorcycle when a westbound 2013 Honda Civic entered the intersection without yielding at a stop sign. The vehicle subsequently collided with the motorcycle.

Wisenbarger, a Columbus resident, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Grant Medical Center for medical treatment.

Four occupants were reportedly inside the Honda at the time of the collision. None of them suffered injuries, authorities said.

The Honda’s driver, a 38-year-old man from Lockbourne, received a citation for failing to yield the right-of-way at a through highway.

MOTORCYCLE CRASH INVESTIGATION

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision, including the reported failure to yield at the intersection of U.S. 23 and Little Walnut Road.

Intersection collisions frequently occur when motorists disregard stop signs, traffic signals or right-of-way requirements. According to the Federal Highway Administration, approximately 40% of vehicle collisions happen at or near intersections.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also reported that approximately 83,000 motorcyclists suffered injuries in traffic crashes during 2021, representing an increase of about 5% compared with the previous year.

Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a national legal analyst for Accident Injury News, explains that motorcycle riders face significant risks because they lack the protective structures available to occupants of passenger vehicles.

In cases such as this, a comprehensive investigation can help establish how the collision occurred and whether a driver’s failure to follow traffic regulations contributed to the injuries. Important evidence may include the official accident report, witness statements, available surveillance footage, vehicle damage assessments and the parties’ insurance information.

Bond also emphasizes the importance of examining all potential contributing factors rather than relying solely on the initial description of the collision. Reviewing driver conduct, roadway conditions and available physical evidence can help clarify responsibility.

Accident Injury News will continue to follow developments as additional information becomes available.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Amanda Wisenbarger may have grounds to pursue a personal injury claim, depending on the findings of the investigation and the available evidence establishing liability.

Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal and a national legal analyst for Accident Injury News, explains that injuries resulting from traffic collisions can create financial challenges beyond the immediate cost of emergency treatment.

In cases such as this, an injured motorist may have grounds to seek compensation for medical expenses, ongoing rehabilitation, future treatment needs, lost earnings and the physical and emotional impact of the accident, subject to applicable law and proof of damages.

Formica further notes that insurance companies may closely examine accident circumstances and claimed losses when evaluating compensation requests. Medical documentation, employment records, treatment expenses and evidence from the collision investigation can therefore play an important role in assessing a potential claim.
