Jeffrey Arredondo killed in Rialto crash, county coroner confirms

RIALTO, CA — October 25, 2026 A devastating collision involving a Honda Odyssey and a semi-truck claimed the lives of two people early Sunday on the 210 Freeway in Rialto, authorities reported.

The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified one of the deceased as 23-year-old Jeffrey Sosa Arredondo, a resident of Los Angeles.

According to authorities, the collision occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. on the eastbound 210 Freeway, west of Riverside Avenue. A Honda Odyssey traveling eastbound struck a semi-truck trailer that was stopped along the right shoulder.

California Highway Patrol officers arrived at the scene and discovered the minivan lodged underneath the trailer of the commercial truck.

Arredondo and another occupant of the Honda Odyssey suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. No additional injuries were reported in connection with the collision.

Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances leading up to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

The circumstances surrounding the fatal collision are still being examined by authorities. Investigators may review several factors, including vehicle movements, road conditions, visibility, driver actions, and the positioning of the semi-truck along the freeway shoulder.

National legal analyst Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal, emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive investigation following serious roadway collisions. In cases such as this, an independent review may help establish how the incident occurred and determine whether any contributing negligence was involved.

Bond has highlighted that a thorough investigation can involve speaking with witnesses, examining available surveillance footage, and reviewing relevant cellphone or electronic records. Preserving this evidence promptly can be important when determining the events preceding a fatal crash.

Accident Injury News will continue monitoring developments as authorities work to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

As the investigation progresses, Arredondo’s eligible surviving family members may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim if evidence establishes that another party’s negligence contributed to the fatal collision.

Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal, explains that wrongful death cases can involve significant emotional and financial consequences for surviving relatives. Depending on the circumstances and applicable California law, eligible family members may seek compensation for losses such as lost financial support, loss of companionship, and other legally recognized damages.

Formica also emphasizes the importance of understanding the available legal options before making decisions involving insurance claims. In cases such as this, reviewing the available evidence and evaluating potential liability can help families better understand their rights and possible avenues for compensation.

The circumstances of the Rialto collision have not yet been fully established, and any potential legal responsibility remains subject to the ongoing investigation.
