CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Under the law, any driver involved in a collision must remain at the scene until authorities arrive. However, many suspects flee due to fear of arrest, intoxication, or lack of a valid license.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, more than 4 million people were involved in hit-and-run crashes between 2018 and 2022, with over 12,000 fatalities reported.

Candice Bond, an experienced hit-and-run accident attorney, stressed that it is crucial to conduct an independent investigation promptly to protect the rights of victims.

“Having the right resources is essential to investigate a hit-and-run case and establish negligence,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal. “Factors such as road conditions, signage visibility, and lighting must all be carefully evaluated. These steps are necessary to help victims and their families obtain justice and appropriate compensation.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, the family of Zulma Briones may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim. Surviving family members may seek compensation for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following such a tragic accident.

“The grief and emotional burden after losing a loved one can be overwhelming,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal.

“Families of wrongful death victims have the right to seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic incident.”
