TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. — A two-vehicle crash on June 8 claimed the life of a 12-year-old from Coker and left several others injured.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the crash happened at around 4:45 p.m. on Romulus Road near Libby Road. The location is about eight miles west of Northport.
A 16-year-old from Northport driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck hit a Chevrolet Colorado pickup. The 12-year-old was one of four occupants in the Chevrolet.
Emergency responders pronounced the child dead at the scene but did not identify the victim.
Zosima M. Andabalo, age 36, of Coker was driving the Chevrolet. She had three passengers: the 12-year-old, a 14-year-old and a 5-year-old.
Paramedics transported Andabalo to DCH Regional Medical Center. The 14-year-old and 5-year-old were taken to an area hospital. The 16-year-old Ford driver was also injured. Paramedics transported the teen to an area hospital.
ALEA troopers are continuing to investigate the incident.
