Cedar Grove, TN, (March 27, 2026) – A tragic head-on collision involving a school bus in Carroll County claimed the life of Zoe Davis and another student while injuring several others, according to authorities.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported that a Kenwood Middle School bus crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a Tennessee Department of Transportation dump truck near Cedar Grove. The bus then struck an SUV before veering into a ditch.
The vehicle was transporting 25 students and five adults en route to Jackson for a Greenpower USA field trip.
Zoe Davis was among two students pronounced dead at the scene. Multiple others were injured, with several airlifted to trauma centers in Nashville and Memphis. Four children were transported to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, where all were listed in stable condition. Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County treated 19 individuals, all of whom were later released.
The crash remains under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
