FRESNO, CA, (May 25, 2026) – A motorcyclist suffered critical injuries Monday night in a hit-and-run collision at an intersection in Fresno, according to police.
Authorities said the crash happened around 8 p.m. near Olive Avenue and Rowell Avenue. Investigators determined that a motorcycle traveling westbound on Olive Avenue collided with a Jeep that turned left in front of the rider.
The motorcyclist, identified only as a man in his 40s, sustained severe injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
Police said the driver of the Jeep, identified as 33-year-old Yzamar Mendez, later returned to the scene while officers were conducting their investigation.
Mendez was taken into custody and charged with felony hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license.
Officials have not released additional information regarding the condition of the injured motorcyclist.
