HILL, TX (May 25, 2026) — A two-vehicle collision Monday afternoon in Hill County left one man dead and another injured, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
DPS troopers responded at approximately 3:41 p.m. to the intersection of FM 933 and FM 1304, located south of Aquilla. Investigators said an Acura passenger vehicle was traveling westbound on FM 1304 approaching the stop-controlled intersection.
According to DPS, the Acura failed to yield the right-of-way at the stop sign and entered the intersection, where it collided with a northbound Ford pickup truck towing a gooseneck trailer on FM 933.
The driver of the Acura, identified as 36-year-old Young Yong Kim of Copperas Cove, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency medical personnel airlifted the 72-year-old driver of the pickup truck to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco. Authorities said the driver suffered injuries described as non-life-threatening.
The crash remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
