LUBBOCK, TX, (April 07, 2026) — A 67-year-old man was killed early Tuesday morning after being struck by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 27 in Lubbock.
According to the Lubbock Police Department, officers responded to the area near the intersection of I-27 and 50th Street at approximately 3:15 a.m.
Upon arrival, authorities found William Goodwin in the roadway with severe injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
Police said the driver of the tractor-trailer remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No charges have been filed at this time. The department’s Major Crash Unit is continuing to investigate the incident.
