NAPA, CA, (March 28, 2026) — Three people were killed and two others seriously injured following a head-on crash involving an alleged DUI driver Saturday morning on Silverado Trail in Napa County.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a southbound Mitsubishi sedan driven by 68-year-old William Dene Brumley of Vallejo sideswiped a northbound BMW SUV. The Mitsubishi then continued southbound before colliding head-on with a Toyota sedan traveling north behind the BMW.
A rear passenger in the Mitsubishi was pronounced dead at the scene. The front passenger was transported to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center, where they later died.
The driver of the Toyota and three passengers were taken to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center with serious injuries. One of those passengers later succumbed to injuries.
Brumley was transported to Adventist Health St. Helena, where he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a drug. He was later moved to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and is expected to survive.
The crash remains under investigation.
