WICHITA FALLS, TX, (April 25, 2026) – A Wichita Falls woman was arrested Saturday after allegedly striking a motorcyclist on Central Freeway and fleeing the scene, according to the Wichita Falls Police Department (WFPD).
Authorities said a witness observed a Volvo sedan weaving through traffic at high speed on northbound Central Freeway around 6:40 a.m. The vehicle reportedly struck a three-wheeled motorcycle, ejecting the rider into a grassy area east of the roadway.
The injured motorcyclist was transported to United Regional Hospital with serious injuries and later airlifted to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex for advanced medical care.
Police located the Volvo abandoned at a convenience store near North Eighth Street and Central Freeway Access Road. The vehicle showed significant front passenger-side damage and deployed airbags.
Investigators identified Maliah White as the driver through witness descriptions and follow-up police work. She later admitted to operating the vehicle at the time of the crash and was arrested. White has been charged with collision involving personal injury or death and booked into the Wichita County Jail.
The victim’s identity has not been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
