Wheat Ridge Police: Gavyn Blatter Dies in I-70 Crash

Blatter’s family is calling for additional lighting to be installed along that stretch of I-70. Wheat Ridge Police say the case remains under investigation as evidence continues to be gathered.

According to the National Safety Council (NSC), 5,218 large trucks were involved in fatal crashes in 2024, marking a 30 percent increase over the past decade.

Box truck accidents can stem from a variety of causes, including driver inexperience, poor vehicle maintenance, speeding, and distracted driving.
