RACELAND, LA (May 02, 2026) – A 73-year-old Raceland motorcyclist, Walter Foran, has died from injuries sustained in a crash that occurred last month on Highway 308, according to Louisiana State Police Troop C.
Authorities reported that on April 17, shortly before 5 p.m., a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling north on Highway 308 near Triple Oaks Drive when a 2003 Honda Accord attempted to turn left from Triple Oaks Drive onto the highway. Investigators said the Honda failed to yield to the oncoming motorcycle and entered the roadway, resulting in a collision.
Foran, who was wearing a DOT-approved helmet at the time of the crash, suffered severe injuries and was transported to an out-of-area medical facility. He later succumbed to those injuries on May 2.
The driver of the Honda Accord, who was not identified, was properly restrained and was not injured in the crash. Louisiana State Police said impairment is not suspected for either driver, and the investigation remains ongoing.
