Virginia Yglesias Dead After Redlands Vehicle-Pedestrian Crash

PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

Despite being protected by various laws, pedestrians remain among the most vulnerable road users in the country, frequently injured or killed by motorists who are distracted, impaired, or disregard posted warnings.

California recorded 1,069 pedestrian fatalities in 2023, the highest total in the nation, representing approximately 25 percent of all traffic deaths statewide, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety. The state has led the country in pedestrian deaths for five consecutive years.
