FATAL HIT-AND-RUN ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

Florida traffic laws require every driver involved in a crash resulting in property damage, injury, or death to stop immediately at the scene.

According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, there were 104,273 hit-and-run crashes statewide in 2023, leading to 271 fatalities and 871 injuries. Suspects often flee because they are impaired, driving without a valid license, or fear being arrested.

Candice Bond, an experienced hit-and-run accident attorney, said that an independent investigation conducted by an experienced attorney is essential to safeguard the rights of a victim’s family.

“Having the proper resources is crucial to investigate a hit-and-run accident case and prove negligence,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a national analyst with Accident Injury News. “Road conditions, signage visibility, and roadway lighting are among the factors that should be carefully evaluated. These investigative steps are essential to helping families who have lost a loved one to a hit-and-run driver pursue justice and recover the monetary compensation they deserve.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family members of Aidlier Meyer may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim. Relatives of wrongful death victims can seek compensation for the loss of companionship, pain and suffering, emotional distress, and other damages resulting from a tragic or catastrophic accident.

“We understand just what families are forced to go through, and having their rights protected is vital,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal. “A wrongful death attorney will closely monitor the official investigation and help ensure that the family’s best interests are protected. Surviving relatives of wrongful death victims are entitled to pursue damages for the loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident.”
