Officials said the incident occurred at approximately 12:40 a.m. near the intersection of 6th Avenue and Kaimuki Avenue.

MOPED CRASH INVESTIGATION

Moped and scooter accidents account for approximately 50,000 emergency department visits each year, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Unfortunately, data also shows that injuries and fatalities involving mopeds and scooters are increasing.

Candice Bond, an experienced moped and motor scooter accident attorney, noted that crashes like this are frequently the result of negligent driving.

Bond emphasized that in situations such as this, conducting a prompt and independent investigation is critical to safeguarding the rights of victims and their families.

“Having the proper resources is essential when examining a scooter accident case and establishing whether a motorist acted negligently,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal.

“Factors such as road conditions, visibility of signage, and roadway lighting can all contribute to a crash and must be carefully evaluated.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the victim may be entitled to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, explained that the aftermath of a serious injury can be overwhelming, affecting every aspect of a person’s life, including work, finances, and family responsibilities.

“It is important for victims to retain an attorney when filing a personal injury claim, as legal representation allows for effective negotiation with insurance companies,” Formica said.

“Insurance companies are often indifferent to the growing expenses faced by an injured victim. An attorney can step in to advocate on their behalf, ensuring accountability and helping secure fair compensation.”
