UTV Head-on collision in Ozark County injures Kimberling City man

OZARK, MO, (April 27, 2026) – A Kimberling City man was seriously injured Monday morning in a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) in Ozark County.

A 61-year-old Kimberling City man who was a passenger in the UTV sustained serious injuries in the crash. He was airlifted to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield for treatment.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation by the MSHP.

UTV CRASH INVESTIGATION

According to Consumer Product Safety Commission data, approximately 568 adults and 144 children are killed each year in ATV, UTV, and OHV-related crashes, with many more suffering injuries.

Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and a national analyst for Accident Injury News, emphasized that in cases like this, a prompt independent investigation is critical to preserving key evidence.

“In addition to the official police report, an attorney will evaluate all possible contributing factors,” said Bond, an experienced ATV accident attorney.

“Legal counsel has the resources to engage expert witnesses, conduct background checks, locate witnesses, and review insurance coverage. Acting as an advocate, an attorney can help guide an injury victim through what can often be a complicated process.”

“Time is a critical factor in cases such as this, and it is important that evidence is reviewed without delay,” Bond added.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, the victim may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, noted that the emotional and financial strain following a serious injury can be overwhelming, affecting many aspects of a person’s life, including family, employment, and overall well-being.

“It is important for victims to retain an attorney when pursuing a personal injury claim, as legal counsel can negotiate with insurance companies on their behalf,” Formica said.

“Insurance companies may attempt to settle claims quickly for less than their true value. An attorney will advocate strongly for the victim to ensure fair treatment and appropriate compensation,” he added.
