Tyra Carmen Letitia Bradley killed in SC I-85 tractor-trailer collision

ANDERSON, SC, (April 21, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 85 in Anderson County claimed the life of a 24-year-old Easley woman, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Authorities said Tyra Carmen Letitia Bradley was a front-seat passenger in a Ford F-150 traveling north near mile marker 9 when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The truck veered off the roadway and struck a tractor-trailer that was parked on the right shoulder.

Bradley was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where she later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the Ford, whose identity has not been released, was also transported to a hospital with injuries.

Troopers reported that the driver of the Ford fell asleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and collide with the parked 18-wheeler.

The incident remains under investigation.

FATAL CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Each day, passengers like Bradley lose their lives in motor vehicle accidents, often through no fault of their own.

Annually, about 37,000 people are killed and an additional 2.3 million are injured in crashes across the United States.

“In addition to the official police report, an independent investigation is absolutely critical,” said Candice Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney and Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

“Factors such as roadway conditions, visibility of signage, and lighting must all be carefully evaluated, as they may contribute to a crash,” said Bond, who also serves as a national analyst for Accident Injury News.

“Accident reconstruction experts are sometimes necessary to determine exactly how an incident occurred. Every case is different and requires a thorough review. Time is crucial, and families must ensure that evidence is preserved and analyzed promptly. Attorneys play a key role in providing guidance and protecting the rights of families who have lost a loved one,” Bond added.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the family of Tyra Carmen Letitia Bradley may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim for their tragic loss.

“The emotional impact after losing a loved one in a crash can be overwhelming,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal.

“We understand the hardships families face during such times, and it is important that their rights are fully protected. A wrongful death attorney can monitor the investigation and help ensure that the family’s legal interests are represented,” Formica added.
