ALBUQUERQUE, NM, (April 28, 2026) – Two pedestrians were injured Tuesday night in Albuquerque, including one with serious injuries, after being struck by an allegedly impaired driver, according to authorities.
The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) reported that the crash occurred shortly before 10:10 p.m. near the intersection of Tramway Boulevard NE and Candelaria Road NE. Investigators said a vehicle struck two pedestrians who were in the area at the time.
One victim suffered serious injuries, including a fractured pelvis and facial lacerations, and was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH). The second pedestrian sustained road rash and was also taken to UNMH for treatment.
Police arrested the driver at the scene on charges of DWI and great bodily harm by vehicle.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
