OTTAWA, OH, (April 28, 2026) – A Tuesday morning hit-and-run crash in Ottawa Township left a woman and two children injured, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the collision occurred at approximately 10:12 a.m. at the intersection of Road 7 and Ohio 65. Investigators determined that 47-year-old Predrag Rasuo, of Greensboro, North Carolina, was driving a 1999 Freightliner tractor-trailer when he allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign.
The truck entered the intersection and struck a 2022 Chevrolet Trax driven by 33-year-old Brook-Lynn Barrientes. Barrientes and her two minor passengers sustained injuries and were transported to Putnam County Ambulatory Care for treatment.
Officials said Rasuo fled the scene immediately after the crash. Law enforcement later located the tractor-trailer on County Road 6 near Pandora, where he was stopped and taken into custody without incident by Pandora Police and Putnam County deputies.
Investigators suspect impairment may have contributed to the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
