PAULS VALLEY, Okla. — Officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol are investigating a two-vehicle accident on June 24 that left one dead and two injured.
Troopers said the crash happened around 5:45 p.m. near the intersection of State Highway 19 and State Highway 133.
A 2008 Kia Forte and a 2003 Honda Accord collided about five miles east of Pauls Valley.
Trever Brooks, 31, of Wynnewood, was driving the Honda and sustained internal injuries in the crash. He was airlifted to Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, where he was listed in critical condition.
The driver of the Kia, a 48-year-old man from Stratford, was hospitalized with less serious injuries, according to troopers. His passenger, a 48-year-old woman, died at Purcell Municipal Hospital following transport by Stratford EMS.
Investigators are reviewing what caused the accident but said seatbelt use may have been a factor.
