PORTLAND, OR (April 06, 2026) – A tragic single-vehicle crash early Monday in Portland claimed the life of Trent Badillo and another individual, authorities said.
According to Portland Police, officers observed a white 1996 Toyota Corolla speeding at approximately 2 a.m., running multiple red lights and traveling in the wrong direction through downtown streets. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled.
The vehicle accelerated east on S.W. Harvey Milk Street, crossed Naito Parkway, and entered Tom McCall Waterfront Park before crashing through a barricade and plunging into the Willamette River.
Badillo, 17, of Beavercreek, a passenger, and a 19-year-old man believed to be the driver were recovered from the river and pronounced dead.
