CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (Nov. 23, 2025) — A Ballston Lake man was killed Sunday night in a multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer on the Northway, according to New York State Police.
The victim was identified as 71-year-old William Reichman.
Troopers said the incident occurred around 8:10 p.m. near Exit 11. Preliminary findings show that Reichman’s car and another southbound vehicle on Interstate 87 were involved in a rear-end crash. The impact sent Reichman’s vehicle off the roadway, where it struck a guardrail and was hit a second time by another driver.
Investigators said Reichman exited his vehicle following the collision and was then struck by a passing tractor-trailer. The impact knocked him onto the roadway, where two additional vehicles also hit him. The tractor-trailer driver fled the scene, police said.
The investigation remains active.
