DIANA, W.Va. — An area man suffered serious injuries when a motor vehicle struck his bicycle during the weekend.
The crash happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. July 6 along Guardian Drive, the West Virginia State Police Webster Springs detachment reported. Timothy Ware, age 46, of Diana, was cycling on the roadway when the collision occurred.
Paramedics initially took Ware to Webster County Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Doctors later transferred him by helicopter to Charleston Area Medical Center due to the severity of his condition.
State police have not filed charges against the vehicle’s operator, who they did not publicly identify.
Investigators continue examining the circumstances surrounding the crash.
